New opinions are always suspected, and usually opposed,
without any other reason but because they are not already common."

19 August 2007: Buying a house, getting a job, adopting 3 kittens! Settling back down in Brookings, OR. I'll be teaching at one or both of the local community colleges and may be doing some independent educational consulting after we get settled in our house.

August 2007: We're tired of the road and looking at homes to buy in Brookings, OR, the most southern town on the Oregon Coast. We have lived here before and Tom wants to be back near "his ocean." I'm still hopeful of getting a teaching position in one of the community colleges or universities within driving distance and I may do some independent educational consulting again.

June 2007: We are still on the road traveling in Colorado. My nephew is traveling with us for a few months. Harry Cat passed away on June 11 with pleural effusion most likely caused by cardiac disease. I want him back. He was such a great cat! I mourn and grieve and hear him scratching at the door to come in from a few days of wild hunting. I am applying for teaching jobs at community colleges and universities. Adult education calls.

March 2007: I have been distracted by travel in Florida and photographing wildlife and the TESOL certification has been put on the back burner for now.

Tom and I agree that it's time to get off of the road for awhile. We want to get a house and a yard for Harry Cat. I would return to Germany if I could get a specialist assignment, not a classroom teaching position, with DoDDS again, so I have been pursuing that, but that's not likely to happen. DoDDS has excess personnel to place because of school closings. It's most likely that we'll be returning to the Oregon Coast.
