Focusing on school issues for Adolescents
with Learning Disabilities, Attention Deficit Disorder, and Behavioral Disorders

Information gathered and shared by Veteran Educator, Kay Jones, B.A., M.S.

Who am I?

As of September 2007, I have settled once again in Brookings, Oregon, where I am teaching at the local community college. We traveled for almost four years full-time in our RV and then we wanted to go "home."

I continue to stay connected to educators, parents, and students via this website. I am gathering and sharing information about school issues that many adolescents with learning disabilities (LD), Attention Deficit (Hyperactivity) Disorder (ADHD/ADD), and/or emotional-behavorial disorders (EBD) struggle with on a daily basis in public school classrooms.

I have more than two decades of full-time teaching experience with adolescents with LD, ADHD, EBD in public school settings in MD, VA, CA, and DoDDS-Germany; a few years of experience as an adjunct faculty instructor in teacher education; and a few semesters of experience teaching in adult education. Want to know more? See my resume.

Thanks for visiting my website. I hope you find some interesting and helpful information and I look forward to hearing from you.

I met Henning when I was a teacher in DoDDS-Germany living in Frankfurt. He was my three-year-old neighbor who taught me "Kinder-Deutsch."

He was 17 when he came to visit us in the USA for four weeks in the Summer of 2005. He came to hear and speak English and to experience our culture. We are standing in front of Multnomah Falls near Portland, Oregon. My husband Tom took this photograph.

Henning also came to visit us in the Summer of 2006 on the East Coast. Last summer, Hollywood; this summer, history! He celebrated his 18th birthday with us and he celebrated my 55th birthday with me! Click here to view photos of our travels in Washington DC, MD, and VA.
