Fall 2009: I am now using our college's distance learning program to upload supplemental, online resources for my students so that they can get credit for their time studying online. No new pages will be added here in the future; however, I will leave the existing pages up until Fall 2010.

On the GED writing test, you will be given a topic to write an essay on. You must write on the topic given to you. Read the topic carefully.
One of our projects at military leadership school called for us to speak in front of the class on a topic picked by our instructor. A classmate gave an impassioned speech on the benefits of drinking liquor. Alcohol, he insisted, warded off colds, kept you alert, and even made you steadier on your feet.
"Good job," said our instructor when he finished. "Only one thing: Your topic was the benefits of drinking liquids, not liquor." ~ David Wilson, Readers Digest (*Contributed by Lisa, 2/3/09)
